VPN through wireless router error?

I'm trying to log onto my corporate VPN from my laptop at work using my
wireless router.

We have two computers here already configured by our IT department that can
log on and off to the corporate VPN without a problem. When I first plugged
in my laptop, I just copied the settings off one of the computers which were
setup with static IPs and DNS address's. Everything worked fine, till i
plugged in the wireless router. I've set the configuration up the same as I
would one of the computers, even keeping the address my laptop originally
had.

The problem is the laptop wont connect to the VPN through the wireless
router. I've tried forwarding all connections from the wireless router on
port 1723 (the VPN port) to my laptop IP, setting the laptop ip as the
default DMZ server, and i still get the same error. The VPN connection will
first display "connecting to corporate VPN", then move to " verifying
Username and Password". THen error 619 comes up:

Error 619
A connection to the remote computer could not be established, so the port
used for this connection was closed.

When i monitored the connection, i found it connects from localhost:2058 to
serverip:1723, and then it jumps to verifying username and password, and the
connection stays open, but I get the error. I think maybe it's trying to
move to another port, or another protocol to open up the connection
completely, and when it tries to make that jump the wireless router blocks
the connection and I get the error.

If you need any extra information, i'll be checking this post almost every
hour.
