VPU Problem with my ABIT ATI RX700 PCI-E 256 MB

    When trying to play CIV 4 I am constantly being frozen up upon to have the game exit and get a VPU error screen. I send the report to ATI but the game will keep playing. So I click back and keep playing and it happens again. Then I keep playing and it finally says "hardware rendering shut down going to software rendering." and then I have to reset my computer. Is my graphics card faulty? I have this driver set: ati55win2kxp from ABIT's website so as far as I know I am playing with the updated set. What do I do?

    it should be known I can play for about 5-15 minutes before the first problem occurs.
