I've been reading other posts on how to recover from the trojan.vundo.exe infection.
I have followed instructions as they have been posted for others below:
Scans: Adaware, CCleaner, MS AntiSpyware, SpyBot, etc.
I get all the way to running the VundoFix.exe, but my PS2 keyboard won't work in Safe Mode. I installed the lastest XP Bios. The mouse works, but the keyboard doesn't, so I can't enter the HJT O2 and O20 filenames.
What do you suggest? What other kind of information do you need?
    Thanks.

You're welcome! In the event that it does not work download the below so you will be ready for my next steps if they are necessary.

    - Process Explorer 9.2

    - Pocket KillBox

Extract them to there own folders somewhere that you will be able to locate them later when and if we need them.

Fantastic! The new Vundo removal tool from Symantec worked just fine (1.3.1). It caught the infection and removed it the first time after reboot. I ran a full system scan and no virus was found!
Thanks for getting me the link.
How much of the scan tools should I keep?
Following plenty of excellent instruction on this site left me with all the following: Ewido security suite, Cleanup!, Microsoft AntiSpyware, Spybot, HJT, CWShredder, Kill2me, and CCleaner. I also have Norton SystemWorks and Norton Antivirus 2005.
What do you suggest I keep?
Also, what do you think I should do about the keyboard not working in Safe Mode?
    Thanks a bunch.

You do not need to remove any of them. Some of them are very small and many do not use any resources unless you run scans. However, if your Ewido version is the 15 day trial version, you may want to consider buying it. If not you can uninstall it and just keep the others.

But note, if you run into any future problems, don't assume what you currently have is the correct version. Always check for newer program versions. Also anytime you are going to run any scanner, check for detection/definitions updates first.

Keyboard issue is not a malware problem to be discussed in this forum. Try the Hardware Forum. It could be a driver issue (like some driver that is required is not loading in safe mode).
