I want to try Opera 10 Beta. I'm now using Opera 9.26. Must I remove 9.26 before installing 10 Beta? Thanks.

I don't think you have to, but it's probably a good idea to remove the old version before installing the beta. However, you could change the default install location when installing the beta, but there might end up being some 'crossover' of files anyway (like in the Application Data folders for example). I think removing the older version is recommended.
