    Hey everyone,

I am designing a website for my sister's business. She teaches art classes locally, and I don't need anything fancy.

I already have the site designed, but I've hit a snag. My web host (very basic, minimal cost, since the site doesn't receive more than 20-30 hits a month) doesn't support CGI or PHP or much of anything beyond the basics.

Could anyone point me to resources on submitting a basic HTML or javascript form to an email address? If you have better suggestions on how to pull this off, that would be great!

    Thanks!

You can have the action as an email address to have the form emailed, but because of a bug in Windows, users may just open a blank email when they click the link, instead. This doesn't affect everybody, but you can't always tell, (at least not very easily.) Because of this, we now have to use a script, service, etc. to do what was supposed to be built into HTML. :(
In case you didn't see it, zDawg replied to your question here, suggesting some services that could work.
I use ripway.com for forms processing, but it can't send email. (You have to periodically check the site once in a while or they delete the account anyway, though, so it works for me.) I think Freedback.com is a service that accepts form data and emails it to you. 000webhost.com, like ripway.com, is an actual host, so you would have to move your stuff there or at least set up a file there to accept the form data (the url of which you would then make the form's action.) You don't always need to have the rest of the site on the same host. IMO, Freedback.com is probably the easier option in your case, unless you want more advanced features than they provide.

Word to the Wise: Not sure what information you'll be collecting via the form, but I'd be a little leery of any free services. I'd try to pick someone well known and reputable. If you have a third party that's going to host your site and allow form submissions to be sent via email (or any other method), I'd want to be sure that the third party isn't harvesting any of the information collected by the form. It wouldn't be fun to have people submitting their email addresses, only to have them harvested for use by a spammer. Also, bear in mind that email transfers are plain text across the internet and not secure. For this reason, you wouldn't want any confidential information collected on the form (i.e. credit card numbers, etc) and then emailed to you.

There is a free website called http://freedback.com where you can make a free html form. It is automaticlly emailed to you.
