Web Update Wizard Service V4.

In the title - what is this? It comes from Data Perceptions / PowerProgrammer.
Here is the file location.
C:\Windows\system32\WebUpdateSvc4.exe

It shows in Services as a disabled service, but not in System Configuration (msconfig).
I found it thanks to Revo Uninstaller Pro.
Can I delete this file? I don't like unused third-party junk on my PC.

Another article says 47% view it as a threat.

I just looked on a 7 and XP computer and I do not have it on either. The computer seems to function fime so I suspect it is not needed.
Me, I'd put it on a USB stick. That would not only remove it from the computer but also have a copy archived just in case you discover something isn't working properly. You can then put it back where it was.

I think it's one of those bundled programs that quietly installed without notifying me.
It doesn't even show in Programs and Features.
I'll remove it.

Seems like things can be installed and you don't get a popup saying if it something you wish to allow.
