    Hi,
    This is my first post.
Only had my pc a week but already I think I must have a couple of "ailments"

I'm getting warnings of a spyware infection flashing up which if I click them takes me to a page advertising pstrooper. This is happening quite frequently and is really anoying if I'm gaming cos it stops the program and trys to connect to the net.

My antivirus also keeps telling me I've got win32alemod but doesn't fix it.

I've run adaware, spybot, ccleaner and a2 but still this persists.

Please can you help me - here is my hijackthis logfile

Do not post HijackThis logs until requested; you have Hijackthis installed incorrectly. Please install HijackThis to C:\Program Files\HJT.

You have not ran any of the steps from or READ ME FIRST thread.

    Please follow the steps below:

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps below:

    - Download HijackThis 1.99.1

    - Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

    - Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

    - Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

    - Run HijackThis and save your log file.

    - Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).

Sorry, I should have said I went through the tutorial you mention for getting rid of spyware and trojans but to no avail.

However I have reinstalled hijackthis like you said and here is latest

Your log shows no signs of having ran any of the online scans requested.

Please make sure System Restore is OFF and the Viewing of Hidden Files & Folders is Enabled as per the tutorial.

Now scan and have HJT Fix the following:
Complete the steps in the READ ME FIRST as requested.

    Post a Fresh HJT log.
