    hey guys, something weird happened to my computer yesterday. I went to the beach and when I returned both of my home computers had all the bookmarks gone and were set to the moilla page as a homepage. I know this happens when you uninstall and reinstall but to my knowledge noone has touched the computers. Would mozzilla update on its own?

    does this suggest outside tampering like data miners or something?

    noone here seems to know how it happened.

    amyways its not a huge deal just a pain to remember these. But im just wonderin if its a more serious issue.

    thanks all.

    Same thing happen on 2 systems. Sounds like the 'Human Factor' was somehow involved. I find it very starnge you would have the same thing happen on 2 systems at the same time.

    Could it be a malware issue, that is a possibility.

    I don't believe that Mozilla updates itself automatically, but there is an option to check and see if updates are available. Even installing a newer version doesn't wipe out your bookmarks unless you delete the entire folder manually, so I would have to go with SPD's comment. ;)

    Close all instances of firefox.

    Start->run->firefox.exe -p

    Choose the profile you were using before (normally it's 'default').

    See if that helps.

    This has happened to me a few times, and the main culprit is actually the computer being switched off without firefox (Mozilla) being shut down first..

    I alway save my bookmarks each night to my documents which is easy enough to save and restore.

    Just click on manage bookmarks then file then export, choose a place and save, to restore just do the same with file except choose import..

    Hope this helps.

    Sadly i doubt you will find your bookmarks, even in your Mozilla profile, i say this because it has happened a few times to me.

    Read these here Google pages.
