weird display problems need help!!!

    okay so my computer randomly developed this weird display problem where it replaces colors in pictures and displays (including things like toolbars) with hot pink? ive done everything i could think of including reformatting, but the problem remains, so i figure it must be a hardware problem, anyone have an idea as to how to get my colors straightened out again?

    Have you tried another monitor to see if its your monitor that isnt going?

    Thats the first thing i would do, as you said you've formatted so its either the monitor or somethings wrong with your graphics card (which i doubt)!

    Also are all your graphics driver settings on default - ie have you not maxed them all up etc?

    well its a laptop so i havent tried another monitor, and doing things such as adjusting resolution or color doesnt seem to make a difference
