Went through READ ME now need help fixing problems

If you worked thru the READ ME, you should realize that HijackThis logs are the very last thing we want to see. All the other scans and the logs requested in the READ ME must be attached first and then a HijackThis log can be attached, but HijackThis must not be run until ALL the other steps have been completed. Also HijackThis MUST BE installed exactly as requested in step 7 and it must be renamed. It these instructions are not followed, it will just take longer before we can begin helping you. To make sure everything is clear to you, here is our boilerplate response to most new threads:

• Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
• Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
• Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

• After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.

• When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:
  • 
    [*]runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
    [*]newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
  • CounterSpy - ONLY IF you were not able to run Windows Defender
  • Bitdefender - from step 6
  • Panda Scan - from step 6
  • HijackThis

NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!

 

Sorry about the delay in getting a response to your original thread.

And this is an example of why we request that users remain in one thread. Normally we tell people to not bump their threads because it does more harm then good since they loose their place in the work queue. However, you some how managed to slip by our sites totally un-noticed. That is probably because of the multiple messages that you had posted in the thread. All of us probably thought some one was working on it because the post count was increasing and it kept changing places in the queue.

I will look at that thread now, but in the future please remain in a single thread for a problem and wait at least 24 hours before adding a message to cause your thread to bump. We typically answer much faster, but sometimes we are just very busy and weekends can cause delays too.
