what can i stop running during startup?

i was wondering by my HJT log, are there any programs that i can stop from running or that i dont need running? Also where is the folder at that you can choose from a list of what you want to run during start up?

sorry forgot to add my HJT log... i know that there are alot of things running. i dont want them running so whatever is running and shouldnt please help. also is there any spyware on here? thanks

First, look in Add/Remove Programs and uninstall Viewpoint then navigate to and delete the program files directory.

C:\Program Files\Viewpoint

The only processes I notice that’s really unnecessary is the ones below, everything else is pretty much required.

C:\Program Files\WinZip\WZQKPICK.EXE
C:\Program Files\Arcade\PCMService.exe

 

hey thanks for the responce. but how do i get to the screen where i can choose to not run certain programs at the inital start up screen? thanks

Scan with HijackThis and Check the Boxes for the following:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [PCMService] "C:\Program Files\Arcade\PCMService.exe"
O4 - Global Startup: WinZip Quick Pick.lnk = C:\Program Files\WinZip\WZQKPICK.EXE

After you complete the above, the startup entries will be removed.

 

oh alright., so HJT actually removes it from the inital startup... ok. i thought it did something else. like remove it from the system. Thanks bjg.
