When we start our computer it says that there is new hardware found. Although to our knowledge there has not been. Unless our teen tried to install something.

When we hit cancel this message appears SURegCreateKeyfailed

When we go to print we get a message User Validation Required. Pring offline.
We uninstalled and then tried to reinstall our printer, but the PC won't recognize the hardware.
When we use the Add printer wizard and use the printer install disk CANON_IJ .
    the D: drive says \ENU\319X\DISK1\WIN98USB
even thought the canon disk is in the D: drive. What is \ENU\319X\DISK1\WIN98USB
    ??

    Please help.
    OS Windows Me

The system is looking for a driver and that was the last path it loaded one from, so it is looking there and not find it so it is prompting you to browse and find the path where the file should be. Sounds like it is a printer driver becasue it can't find it and you cannot print.
So have you installed a USB printer on Win98 lately?
