money's just super tight right now. now other way around it. I'm looking at some PSU's on ebay and I'm tired of waiting around. The ones I'm looking at have 30000 hrs MTBF rating at 25 degrees C. How is that?

    Complies with INTEL®ATX 12V standard
    ▪ Complies with FCC part 15 subpart J class B 115 VAC operation and CISPR 22
    ▪ High efficiency output
    ▪ One 12VDC fans
    ▪ MTBF over 30,000 hours at 25°C
    ▪ Output short circuit protection (except +5VSB)
    ▪ Output over voltage protection
    ▪ Output over wattage protection (520W)
    ▪ Resettable power shut down

Honestly, viper, I found out that I could get by on less than 250 Watts. But that's REALLY not good, so I want to go atleast 350 if I can, and currently have a whopping $31 to spend... and that includes S&H. But, i have found a few in that price range already, I'd just like to be able to trust it as well. Yes, I know it's asking a lot already, but if it's one thing I've learned, if you keep looking for it, you'll find it. Again, reliability, 30 - 40 dollars including S&H, and 350 or 400 watts. It could even be slightly used...which is why I usually try ebay. I need some halfway decent brand names mostly. They don't have to be the very best. Right now my pc is just sitting there collecting dust....rotting. It's sad.

    I'd recommend looking at http://www.itxchange.com

They buy off-lease, so they have some KILLER deals. I found a 330W PSU for < $3 today. (Mind you that was a dell PSU, and likely proprietary, but it gives an idea) They'll ship to Canada, the UK, and the US.

Wow, thanks Mada. Looks like a good lead for me. I found some brand names. These were the most popular on E-bay in my price range, which is almost always where I buy from if I have to go cheap. So, it is very likely I will buy one of these soon. I need help. From what I searched on the net, they do not seem to come up under reliable, but neither do they come up under unreliable.

    These looked fair:
    Logisys
    Viomax
    Cool Power
    Echo star
    Genmax
    Arrow
    Okia

    These were unsure:
    Powork
    A-power

    These were dirt cheap:
    Dynex
    Hipro
    Hercules

If anyone knows which of these are most reliable please say so. I haven't a clue.

Well, taken care of folks...at least for now...hopefully for a while. If you're curious what I ended up doing, go look in topic "I never thought my PSU would quit" in Hardware.
