What is tunneling Pseudo-Interface?

    When running ipconfig on a laptop it comes back with "tunnel adapter teredo tunneling adapter interface" and a strange IP address. I had no luck finding anything hepfull using search engines w/ that criteria so if any one can offer a little help concerning why this is happenning it would be much appreciated

    installed when you updated windows to add IPV6..

    I already checked to see if IV6 was there and it was non-existant. Is there another reason tunnelling would be there? What is tunnelling?
