What Programming Language to Learn

I have read that PERL is an old programming language. I am wondering what programming language would be best to learn in order to design ithe best nteractive web pages?

Recommend that you look into PHP

I vote C#.NET and then Ruby.. or PHP.NET which is far faster than native PHP
