What Upgrade Would Provide The Biggest Gaming Improvement?

At the moment my PC Specs are as follows:

OS - Windows XP Home
CPU - Intel Celeron 2.6Ghz
Ram - 512mb
Video Card - 256mb ATI Sapphire Radeon 9200 Atlantis


Based on the above info, what would provide me with the biggest improvement in gaming?

upgrading your cpu to a intel pentium 4 2.5 gig or higher would help or get a radeon 9600 or higher with 256 megs of ram.

I've been reading up on graphics cards for the past day or so and a lot of sites suggest getting an Nvidia card over an ATI for numerous reasons.

What do you think of this card? It's got decent memory at 256mb and is within my price range.

I can only say if you want it buy, i just think ati cards have better performance.

 

can u give a price range/overall budget?

id add another 512mb of RAM; Value ram is always a good deal

I would start with another stick of RAM like viper said.

 

bump up to GB of RAM, then the CPU if u want, lastly the graphics card. your current graphics card is ok. MAke sure ur system is runnin smoothly too, and consider overclocking if u want (viods warrentys tho)

 

My advice would be to stick with ATI cards, and add at least 512MB of Ram. It does make a noticeable difference.

If you've got money to burn, I'd say jump to an AMD motherboard and processor. As mentioned above, I do think that a video card should be the last thing to upgrade.
