Anyone know? My Avira's good (I don't have any problems right now on my system), but I'd like to double check that everything is fine with my system using a multiple online scanner (since I haven't used one in a few years) that uses different online software at once. I remember there was someone who gave me a site like that ages ago.

I am assuming you want scanners only and nothing that will run in the back ground. If this is the case, if you want everything to be spiffy, then I would recommend you keep on file several scanner only programs.

    Malwarebyte is my scanner only,
AVG is my full in the background which has scanning as well.
Spybot S&D runs in the background and has scanning.
    Windows Fire Wall

And I have a program specifically designed to stop any malicious programs from stealing that information(note that all my other background programs should be doing this as well
It might be work, but going through http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407 has never failed me. If all comes up clean, then I would say you are in the clear. Also I do believe http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=80343 has a list of alternative scanning software. of course this is for vista/windows 7 people.

    Hi

Online scanners for AV and a multiple one I have not heard of one that will do your whole system if that's what you are after, the list of online ones HERE (see Free Online Scanning Tools section) are good and for various Windows versions, most of the scans will work with XP, Vista and Win7, and with various browsers, but likely best to use IE.

If you wish to scan a single file with multiple AV engines then Jotti or VirusTotal are good.

i use http://www.virustotal.com/ for individual files, but it will not scan your entire system .
Gah . Didn't notice that DavidGP already mentioned virustotal. On the other hand, I never knew about Jotti . I'll have to give that one a try .

Is Hitman Pro the one you're looking for? http://www.majorgeeks.com/Hitman_Pro_d5283.html It scans with 5 engines and does it in the "cloud". Here's some info about it on their website. http://www.surfright.nl/en/hitmanpro
I use it but so far hasn't found anything.. yet.

As has already been noted, for individual files jotti or virus total.

As regards online scanners, I do not use those anymore and much prefer to use AV Rescue cds, since they will be invariably much faster and don't clog up the internet.

There are many to choose from, the one that I most commonly use is Avira's offering.

Download the iso and burn, then boot from cd and run the scan (I always check to just report, rather than fix).

As I said many to choose from including Kaspersky which they say is also very good.

Perhaps this alternative, maybe more to your liking.

    Good Luck

Thank you all so very much. I think I'll go with ESET's online scanner. I was initially looking for a scanner that uses a variety of online scanners at the same time. I can remember someone mentioning it to me.

A scanner that ran avd, avira, eset, mcafee, kapersky, etc. All at the same time...

    That's Hitman Pro. ;)
As I wrote previously it has 5 scanners. To clarify: GData - NOD32 - Avira - Prevx - a-squared. See the pic:
