Whats with the 8800 GTX?

I bought an eVGA 8800 GTX from Newegg about a month ago. The card works great, love it. I needed to wait and get more money for a second one...now I have the money and Newegg stops selling it. Did some research and almost every store has stopped selling it? Why did this happen? Is there an issue with the cards I don't know about? Is it because the 9 series cards are getting a foothold on the market? Can I get another companies 8800 GTX and run SLI?

 

I live in canada and they are still available.....

Well it looks like you can buy direct from the manufacturer and there are "back orders" (so looks like a popularity issue, not problematic!?!) on some models of the eVGA 8800 GTX without knowing your specific model I cant comment further but if you can explore and see if you can "buy direct" from them and what is expected release date:

Modern shopping buy direct, rule out the middle man, save $$$, time and effort especially if you have warranty issues (doesn't have to go through a 2nd and sometimes 3rd party allowing for frustrating delays).

 

Thanks for all the feedback guys! It's weird, all of the sudden Newegg and tigerdirect and many other online stores just stopped selling them? From one day to the next it was almost impossible to get one in Germany. Just got the last pieces for my build in today! Gotta wait till Saturday to dig in, work is a pain in the ***
