What's wrong with Avast AV beta

Latest beta available here at MG, and the Avast program update won't complete installation. Even the Avast set-up is being sandboxed as a suspicious program. Moreover, Avast will not uninstall from add/remove programs. Neither will the last non-beta version install over the beta...something to do with the Avast set-up per Windows dialog box.

 

Perhaps there was a bug in a definition update, it's a Beta; have you checked with other Avast! Beta users on the Avast! forums?

What's sandboxing it? Why are you allowing it to be sandboxed if you trust it enough to download and intall it?

What other security software do you have that could be coming into play?

Have you tried the Avast! uninstaller?

Just note that version 7.0.1407 (Final/Non-Beta) was released today. You can download it here: http://www.majorgeeks.com/Avast_Free_Edition_d1968.html

 

It sandboxed its own set-up executable for installation. Tried installing from here and the Avast UI and hadn't tweaked the setting before the issue escalated. Got it resolved by rolling back to last non beta after running Avast AV removal tool. Avast forums showed the place was abuzz today with program update bug reports etc. Later discovered as Thisisu posted that final non beta was released and mirrored here. Think I'll wait a day or two then install it. Thanks for the help.
