Whatsapp.

On Tuesday I recieved 3 messages within 4 minutes. All 3 came from mobile numbers in South Africa. I don't have WhatsApp on my phone.
Can anyone enlighten me?

When I type the URL without the number, I get this:


Typing the URL with the number, the URL changes to "whatsapp://r?c=988651" and this comes up:

Yes I'm convinced it is spam. I use Whatsapp on two phones. I never get any such messages in my phones but I do frequently get spam messages about Whatsapp 'messages' via email.

Almost everybody I know uses WhatsApp and none of them have seen such a message. And you are the only member who responded. That tells me it's probably another new spam attempt.

I also get WhatsApp spam via email although not that frequent.
