When should I reformat my hard drive??

When I called Dell India Tech Support tey told my that the backup is on another partion. hen the lady said that if I want to make a backup CD I had to go to this special website and make it myself. I told the nimrod that I don't have a burner in my Laptop so can I do it on another computer she said no. SO that's how I got the backup cd. 2 questions:

1. How do I acess the other partiton where my backup stuff is?
2. When should I reformat my hard drive?

What make/model laptop you have is a good start....

 

Besure backup all important data before touching to partition.

Not true.
The Only time I reformat is when I reinstall my OS.
When? depends on how fast ya screw it up!
Over time windows fills up with garbage, or fill's with Virus/spyware crap.
Sometimes best way to rid your self of all that junk is reformat & reinstall your OS, not every user can keep there system clean & running optimal for long.
User skill level is factor to frequency timeframe.

I have one PC that has only been formated once in three years.
Got another PC, average once month cause I like messing it up, lots of experimenting.

Dont believe everything your friends tell you.

 

when you reformat HD that mean the deadline goto HD nearly.

 

I mean formating HD so many times it make lifetime of HD shorter.

 

If you have a warranted HD it is alright but you will lose time if you get bad HD. or you may be a richer and do not care about that.
