where could I get a windows xp setup copy

    I'm trying to get the fax component working on my computer but I don't have a copy of windows xp setup disk. Please help, need to do some faxing like yesterday! Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.:confused

    launch the control panel,Select " Add or Remove Programs ",on left plane scroll down to "Add/remove Windows components" ,check " fax Services ",uncheck everything else, Click " Next ",fax component will be reinstalled.

    Is a 50/50 chance of working depending on setup of PC, not all setups have the main CAB files on the C: drive, which is why the CD maybe needed, worth a try though.


    Sadly the CD will be needed as afaik it was not listed as a standalone download, so if friend or collegue has one then ask if you can borrow it.

    Also and as info not posted, do you have a Fax/Modem DialUp Networking connection as if your using broadband or cable the Fax application doesnt work. So an online fax service are options, not free though and eFax is popular

    Thanks Pistol - I've tried checking the fax in add/remove but it keeps asking for the winxp home edition disk and I don't have it. I only have the reinstall xp svc packs 2 & 3 but they don't have what I need. I think I'll try going to microsoft to look for software. THANKS AGAIN!:wave
