Anyone know which ram timing is better : I have DDR 400.
    2.0-2-2-6
    or
    2.5-3-3-6
    I just clocked up my p4 3.4 a little (3.567 is all i could get )
and im wondering if the ram timings are changed, could it help my fsb be stable at a higher setting?
I should also note the only option I have is to set the latency to "auto" 2.0, 2.5 or 3....I see no place I can change the voltage..therefore it was to 2.0.
I have 2 gigs of ram (4) 512 modules. when I was looking in sandra soft .I noticed some have different timings : 2.5-3-3-8, 2.5-4-4-8, and 3.0-4-4-8 .By forcing a 2.0 latency, are they all running at the same timing now? Does this mean a better performance ?

the LOWER your RAM timings are the faster it runs. It MIGHT help your get more power out of your CPU, or you could try increasing voltage for either your CPU or ram.

Thankx... i have a cheap asrock motherboard that shows no voltage for the ram or cpu in cmos... i'm gonna look for jumpers on the board ..

higher/looser timings = more stability less speed lower/tighter timings = more speed less stability..... if you set speeds in the bios all the ram in the system will run at thows speeds ( all ram in a system must run at the same speed and timings ) And i should note that timings makes for less of a difference on intel mobos then it does on AMD mobos ( from my experience )......
