I'm not sure if this is an xp problem or a dell problem. I bought two new Dell Demension 4700s a couple months ago and have just started to see a problem during the last few weeks. I usually leave my computer on a night, so one morning I wake up and come to my computer. The computer reads:
    Hardware Malfunction
Call your hardware vendor for support.
    Parity Check/Memory Parity
    Error- The system has halted

I'm not sure what this means, but right now it seems to be random. It really hasn't compeled me to call Dell since it is random, and I lose no data. Any suggestions.

Definately a Dell issue. Sounds like your ram went kaput.

Do you have more than one stick of ram in your computer? Try taking one out. If you don't have more than one stick of ram, then try using compatible ram from another computer.
