   I used a RG 58 coaxial to extend my wifi desktop antenna and get the antenna closer to the AP. Instead of a stronger signal I lost the signal completely. Is the cable so lossy that there is no signal?

   If I use a cantenna with the same cable will I get the signal? There are less lossy cables but will they make a difference?
