Perhaps it's your RAM memory. It is over the min requirements but you say that your RAM is 502MB. I don't think there are 502MB modules so you must have two modules of different capacities and that can cause some trouble to your PC. It is better to have two of 256MB<--512, or one 512MB. Also the quallity of the modules matters too.

Sorry for double posting but I just saw asher's post. An on-board GPU is rarelly enough for such heavy games as Doom3, Oblivion etc. Try dropping your visual settings to the minimum.

Here's a place to test your computer against many recent games:

Chances are you won't be able to play most of today's games with an integrated graphics card. If you have Intel integrated, you're royally screwed.

I agree not only does it not have enough power it doesnt have the basic features to even get the game started i.e pixel shader model 2.0,you cannot get around it you just have to buy a video card :)

    Good link shock troop

I think that Ati 1600 series or the similar model of nVidia, 7600GS, should be enough. Personally I have an Asus 1600Pro and I am quite sutisfied. Even in Oblivion I can set the settings to High and the framerate rarelly goes bellow 30.
However I have heard that nVidia 7600 series is performing better.
