Wild Tangent: What is it?

I recently found a Wild Tangent Icon in my Control Panel(win98se). I've been told it's spy/adware. Is it?

If it is how do I get rid of it? Add/remove doesn't work.
I've basically rendered it inop in it's setting(I HOPE!) , but I still don't feel comfortable with it.

Feel free to give me some knowledge on the subject as well, it'll help me understand what I'm dealing with.

 

Here's the thing, I haven't found anything installed by wild tangent, and ad-aware SE peronal doesn't come up with anything. This is why I was asking. I know there's reg key's but I don't have much experience with them and probably wouldn't recognize the ones I need to remove.

 

Thank you! I have AIM, that's probably where it came from, also reading through some of the data on my PC, I have Wild Tangent Web driver. They state that they don't get personnal info, just hardware config info. I also checked their privacy statement, here's the link,

I don't think it's bad spyware, I think it just checks you computer hardware/software and updates itself to work with your system.

I think I'm gonna get rid of it anyway just to be sure. We don't use it so it's not really needed.
