If i restore my system back to factory settings will it delete this win.32delf.uc trojan? and i read something about sometimes viruses can survive if u dont partition your hard drive? if so how do you do that to make it so it wont re appear if i were to restore my system back to factory settings?

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

In most case a factory reimage will remove the infection, but obviously this is not guaranteed since some infections can get into the master boot record or can even infect the BIOS.

How do you know you have this infection and what problems is it causing you? Odds are it could be fixed with out a reimage. Perhaps you should run our READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

I'm sorry i havent been able to reply my pc has been really hard to do anything with,
i have a win32.delf.uc and my spybot will pickit up EVERYTIME i scan with spybot if i restart my pc, if i dont it wont pick it up but i can tell my internet will shut out if i try to search something sometimes it will say oops this link seems to be broken! when i know its not because it does that to almost everyone,

I'm pretty sure its causing my computer to freeze up periodically and my internet doesent seem to be as strong, and alot of my things such as my automatic updates on avg windows ect seem to not connect,

I have a hijack this log if you would like to see

We don't ask you to run Spybot and we don't need a HijackThis log. You need to do what I requested in my last message and run the READ & RUN ME FIRST.

Ok i did, most of this worked besides the combo fix thing said alert its not safe to continue its been compromised to download from the main site i did that same thing happ said i may be infected with a patching virus "virut" and deletes itself

and as for the mgtools i got the error message 4
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc000007b). Click on OK to terminate the application.

and i try to go to the Microsoft website and it says the link has been broken blah blah, i believe the virus is not letting me, its also not letting me do autoupdates to my pc or update avg or any of the other programs in that read and run me first thing you had me do, and alot of times it wont let me go to certain sites even with the links you put to manually download updates wont work, and im not sure what to do,
i managed to download a netframe from filehippo to fix the problem with MGtools and it wont connect to the server to update the 3.5 one so im not sure were to go from here,

Yes now that I have the requested logs, I can see that you are infected with Virut.

Sorry to give you the bad news but you will have to do a total clean reinstall.

I can see the reason for your problems. Your logs show that your Windows Operating system files have become infected by a Virut infection and there is no known reliable fix for this. In addition there are many many other infected files. We could spend a lot of time trying to remove this infection, but odds are that it will not work because the nature of the infection has so many executable system files infected that as soon as we fix one file, other files that are infected will almost immediately or upon the next reboot, just reinfect the files. In addition, your PC would still basically be unreliable/untrustworthy even if we manage to fix the infected files that we can see since there could be many more that we are not seeing.

The safest thing for you to do is backup your personal data immediately since your PC could possibly become unbootable at any point in time. Do not back up any executable files. This includes programs that you have downloaded since any of them could be infected. Anything you may have already backed up that is an executable type file (things you downloaded to install programs....etc) are most likely infected and will cause you to be reinfected if you reuse these files.

Once you backup, you need to format partitions and reinstall Windows and all other software especially your protection software. Then install all updates for all software. DO NOT reinstall from any executable file backups you made while this PC was infected or you will just be reinstalling the infection.

Thats what i was afraid of ): so i take it i cant do a full system restore to package settings then instead? and how much would you say a windows disk would cost? and where would i get one?

System Restore will not help you remove all of this malware. Even if System Restore runs (it may not) and even if you find an uninfected restore point (which may be diffficult), it would only temporarily resolve some issues related to infect Windows files. As soon as you run any other executable file that was not backed up in system restore (and there will be many) you will immediately reinfect the PC. That is why I said you need to reinstall.

You can research this anywhere online or from any local computer store. Or you could ask for suggestions in the Software Forum.

It varies based on which version you buy and where you buy it from. You would be much better off asking for suggestions on this in the Software Forum. It is not something we spend time thinking about or researching in this forum.
