JimLL I can't follow the rules

    ThinkPad T520, Win 7

Moving from XP Pro 32 bit to Win 7, I've put some 32 bit stuff on the T520. I put applications in Program Files (x86).

I also have a lot of graphics that I have copied over to my documents folder. Perhaps I should say "a" document folder, because everything seems to show up double or worse in Win 7, so I'm never sure where I am or what I'm looking at.

Anyway, I use PMView Pro for much of my graphics work and it works fine from the (x86) folder. I have set graphics extensions to call it. It loads and works with any of the graphics - if I can find them. That's a job in Win 7.

But if I click on such a graphic in a Win 7 window (user/name/pictures) I get an error message saying, that graphic "is not a valid Win32 application."

    1. I'm not clicking on an application, I'm clicking on a .jpg file which I have already successfully loaded into PMView USING PMView itself to get it. I double checked that. (I have found no exceptions with other graphics.)

    2. With an associated file? What the heck?! Not a valid Win32 application????? Huh? I'm totally nonplussed.

    3. Am I doomed to work without associations forever?
