Win 7 - Black screen and white cursor

Hi Guys,

Any suggestions on fixing a win 7 64bit with a black screen and white cursor, can move the cursor, tried ctrl + alt + del but nothing comes up, tried fixboot, scannow etc but nothig is working.

Any ideas on how to fix?

 

Do you have any external drives, or anything that can be used as an external drive plugged in?

If so, remove it/them and try again.

 

there is nothing plugged into the laptop, besides the power supply.

 

Have you tried booting to Safe Mode?

 

Yeh, the exact same thing is happening in safemode

 

How about some more info, OK? Model? Age? HD size and any clue as to how full it is? Nothing connected, right? Have you tried booting to a CD/DVD? Either an Win OS or Live Linux rescue CD?
