I noticed this service earlier and was wondering what exactly it was? Is it for the Xp license or something like that. I hope it's not a stealther.

CrypKey is the new copyright protection that a lot of companies are endorsing. I have not heard if Microsoft is using them. Basically it prevents copyright software from being duplicated

AFAIK - CrypKey is NOT a part of the XP operating system ( well not found any instances of it on mine ) so it must be either part of a 3rd party program you installed or CrypKey itself.

this service is installed with a 3rd party app

Maybe it was Nero or Roxio that installed it to keep from burning Copyrights. You think I should dissable, It's taking up 1,600 k of resorces.

Edit: Ahh, I found it. It was linked to my Self Test software to keep me from duplicating that. I guess I will just leave it then, Thanks for the help.
