win xp sp2?? opinion

    any opinions (good or bad) about win xp sp2? not sure if i should download it.

    I'd recommend it. Download the SP2 update. Update any programs you can. Scan your computer for spyware and viruses first, then shut down all unnecessary programs (usually the ones in the system tray), especially the antivirus and firewall (disconnect from the internet before you do by unplugging the connection). Then install it.

    i would reccomend to keep your system up to date, however i would HIGHLY recommend backing up anything important before installing it.

    also, if you have an older or slower system, SP2 may cause your system to run slightly slower from my experience, and what I have heard from many others.

    I've installed it on at least a dozen PC's, all fresh installs of XP first then sp2 from CD, Zero problems.
