Win8 Monitor Issue

A few weeks ago I upgraded to win8, with no known issues.
Only recently I have had issues when i boot my pc, and the monitor although it starts up an turns off, somehow seems to disconnect from PC, and this is currently rectfied by doing a re-boot!
Any ideas?

 

*win10...this is now becoming a more regular occurrence, when I attempt to turn on PC, screen stays blank, i guess PC isn't booting, any ideas?
There was a long painful upgrade yesterday, which needed multiple retstarts which wasn't good, as mine wasn't doing them! Haven't seen if this has imnproved my issue. Any diagnostics i can do?

 

smurph, have you tried updating the drivers for the motherboard. They can be found here:

There is an HDMI driver that says it will work in Windows 8.1. If your problem persists in Win 10 or occurs again, etc., maybe that driver will fix the problem. If you aren't using HDMI and the problem returns, I would try Biostar E-Support here:

Looks like Biostar doesn't have a support forum...

 

Oh, also check to see that the ATI Radeon video driver is updated...

 

Thanks for your help, resolved in the end, by taking to repair shop, my reasonably new SSD HDD had become erratic!
