Winamp sound quality is terrible!

I downloaded winamp and I can't seem to find out how to set it to play on all 4 speakers. So far it only plays on the front 2. And the sound quality is terrible compared to when I play the same song in wmp. anything I have to download?

 

What kind of soundcard do you have, have you played with the equalizer settings to see if that helps, and last, i believe they are just coming out with a mp3 5.1 codec to make use of all the speakers so yo could try seeing if there is one for winamp yet.

 

Try looking on the winamp plugin page , I was using one called super out by caitlyn_alex if I remember right, better sound right away...

There's also some for 5.1, look under top staff rated, top user rated, and most downloaded... One of them looks pretty cool, lots of intricate treble and bass control... cant remember the name

Also you might want to go to the winamp forums and ask around.. they can be pretty good over there... might want to ask if any of the plugins would interfere w/the others....

 

yeah I finally found out how to do it. I was having problems with the equalizer and the type of sound device I was using. It was set at microsoft sound, instead of my C-media speakers.
