windbg.exe message appears when trying to open files

when trying to run any programs I am getting a message: windows cannot find windbg.exe. this file is needed to open files of type "application." If I try to use ad-aware or spybot I get this same message. I cannot get in to my e-mail (outlook)
A site called "bestsearch" also replaces any site I select as my home page in internet explorer, then I see porn sites added to my favorites list.

windbg.exe is either a valid debugger or a trojan. You will want to take all the steps in the sticky before going any further.

 

After doing all of the steps in the READ ME and you still have a problem:


Download HijackThis 1.99.1

Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the ZIP file as your backups will not be safely stored.

Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

Run HijackThis and save your log file.

Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next post. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post as it will be removed).
