Window XP and Explorer keep on restarting

I'm not sure if it's a software problem or a hardware(I just installed two new stick of ram)

And adding in a bit more, Norton just complete crashed, unable to find anything related to it, so I uninstalled it, and got AVG free anti-virus, but it crashed half way through scanning, and tried to use chkdisk that start when window xp start, but before it finished, the PC restarted itself again.

Any help is appreciateed.

 

Something that might be helpful.

Right click on "My Computer", select properties, then select the advanced tab.

or

Click START, then RUN, then type in:

RunDll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL sysdm.cpl,,3 (press enter)

Then follow the following:


Select settings under "Startup and recovery", then uncheck automatically restart (within system failure). Press ok, then ok.

Now, Try scaning with AVG to get the computer to crash. Then make sure you give us everything that the BSOD (blue screen of death) tells you.
