I installed Win10 upgrade on my light duty ASUS Netbook that was running Win8.1. I use it mostly for surfing and travel because it is light weight.

    Win10, Intel Core i3-2365M 1.4 GHz, 4 GB DDR3, 400 GB Ram, 64Bit, Touch Screen

The download and update went very smooth with no hiccups. The whole process to upgrade took a few hours.

I had updated drivers before starting update. All software I had installed on Win8.1 installed on Win10 with no issues so far except with browsers, although I have not tried to use all of the software programs yet to know how they all will respond to Win10.

As I said the problem I am having is with browsers, I have tried Edge, IE11, and Palemoon to see how each
responds to Win10 and they all want to hang or freeze and stop responding.
    Suggestion?

The jury is still out on if I will ever like Edge or even Win10 or not. I will revert back to Win8.1 if browser issues continue.

There are plenty of results in a standard internet search for the problem you face.
Standard troubleshooting is to clear all cache, cookies and downloads in each browser.
Check that the browsers (ie Palemoon) are the very latest version.
Check that all plug ins are up to date.

Running sfc /scannow is also a worthwhile troubleshooting step if the above doesn't resolve the issues.

Never faced such a problem on the three systems I updated from 8.1. I doubt it is related to Win 10 per se.

Yeah I did all that before I posted and did some reading also, tried several things with no good results. I have not run sfc /scannow yet but will.

Maybe not but I had no problems until Thursday after I upgraded to Win10. I keep a clean updated machine and have rarely had problems other than what has happen after a Windows update. So we will see. Thanks.

Take a look at Task Manager CPU and RAM usage. Sounds like one or both is being asked for more than it can handle.

CPU is fluctuating between 2% - 10%. Memory Use is at 46%.

It's a valid Windows background process.

I recently bought my mom an Acer* laptop running Windows 10 home 64-bit. To my surprise, Mozilla Firefox was pre-installed. She used it the past week for 8 hours a day without any problems. Try Firefox. Either way, it might point us in the right direction to figure out why Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer 11 are causing problems.

    * It has just 2 GB RAM and a Celeron CPU.

I always use MG downloads when possible and I tried to download Firefox from the Top Freeware page here on MG but had problems. I tried using Edge and then IE11 both multiple times and kept getting the same results HTTP 404 Error Webpage can not be found.

Finally was able to go directly to Firefox site and download it there. Using it now to post this . I'll let you know how it responds after I have had time to use it a bit.
    Thanks!

Browser problems with Win10 has made me feel like I have time traveled back in time to dialup internet and Win98 with spinning pages not loading or pages becoming unresponsive. Takes forever!:(

There are - to my great surprise as I hadn't looked before - a mass of downloads for multiple versions of Firefox on MG that would probably confuse the average user completely.
Which one did you try and download? 47.01 is the latest version and there are 32bit and 64bit versions showing.
Even though all my systems are 64 bit, I still only use the 32bit version 0f Firefox as I am not convinced by the stability of the 64 bit versions of browsers right now.

If you are having these problems on a newly upgraded Win 10 over something as mundane as downloading and using a web browser, I see the system having some real problems that might only be resolved by saving all data, and a clean OS reinstall.

With any recent upgrade to W10, I would expect some background interference from driver/patch updating, check Windows Update history: Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Advanced options > View your update history

Reliability monitor should log most problems/updates: http://www.pcworld.com/article/2999...ity-monitor-to-fix-and-fine-tune-your-pc.html

Windows System Information tool, MSInfo32 can also be useful but the WER (Windows Error Reporting) section is pretty hard to make sense of, ('is that a 'live' fault report or is it rechecking an older one?'). Best to open up all the subsections of this so that they populate and then Save as the default xxxxx.NFO type, zip the NFO and attach it here for someone to try to make sense of.

(Just noticed a strange one in mine, it begins with: Windows Error Reporting Fault bucket , type 0
Event Name: Win10UpgradeProgramInChina
. LOL, maybe the spyware telemetry/Bing Maps/Cortana thinks Waimoana is somewhere in China?)

If you use an active 3rd party security program, there might also be some issues due to it being caught up in the default W10 security, Smartscreen, etc. queue.

I only tried the 3 links in Top Freeware Picks http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/mozilla_firefox_35.html
The problem was it would not even get to the download page for me and gave the HTTP 404 error.
The download direct from Mozilla seems to be stable at least so far but it has only been used a couple of hours.
Still I'd like to resolve Edge and IE11 issues.

Thanks satrow I will look at logs and post back. I am using Windows Defender and Windows Firewall so no third party security.

I failed to mention software I was running like Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit. I see it mentioned in Critical Events and I have disabled it for now. Never had a problem with in Win8.1.
I tried to post this report using copy and paste from Notepad++ using edge Edge with Malwarebytes Anti Exploit disabled and it posted the sentences in reverse order starting with last ending with first. Very strange. So switched back to Firefox and it post it right.

Here are the results from Reliability Monitor

    Update History:
Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3173428)
Security Update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3174060)
Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3152599)

There are multiple Stopped responding reports in Critical Events.

All other security software is the free version including Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and Super AntiSpyware so they are not running unless I am running a update or scan.

Big mistake. That is an ancient version and I don't even know why it appears on MG.
Version 47.01 is the current version.
It's actually better to get that direct from Mozilla

There are 3 of the above: uninstall MBAE, reboot then use the tool here to clean up, reboot once more and reinstall the latest version, reboot again before testing browsing again with sessions of all 3(?) browsers, keep them all open for a while, if you can. Use Task Manager (right-click the Taskbar) Performance tab to keep an eye on what's happening, Enable the kernel activity% in TaskMan (right-click in the main graph > Show kernel times), watch for big spikes or sustained high % in the new line.

Actually, if you spot a mistake in the MGs listing, you ought to give MA a shout as well to get the script fixed, looks like Mozilla changed something their end.

EDIT: current plus some older versions of Mozilla -based browsers all seem to be listed here: http://www.majorgeeks.com/mg/sortname/mozilla_firefox.html

Yeah I assumed since I was having so much trouble with Edge and IE11 the problem was on my end.

Thanks for your help satrow. Both IE11 and Edge are behaving better after uninstalling and clean up of MBAE and reinstalling newest version. Only a few instances of IE11 not responding afterwards. Nothing spiked above 60-65% in Task Manager-Performance that I noticed. I will post again if I have any more problems wit this. Thanks again!

No worries, it's fairly common to have 3rd party security -related issues post- upgrade, I guess different file versions/.dlls/filters/settings etc. are used or maybe the Defender/SmartScreen need the reinstall so they 'know' the 3rd party software is safe...
