My dad has a Toshiba l500 laptop running windows 10. just today he got the blue screen of death saying your pc has run into a problem and needs to restart. Underneath it says error critical process died. It won't load up and keeps going back to this screen and just gives you the option of the troubleshooting screen.

^ The second link is pushing rubbish software and Registry cleaning as being an initial part of the 'fix' - just don't do it and don't go there, you'll need all the logs, dumps etc. and help you can get, best not retard the troubleshooting process that way.

Try to get into Last Known Good, Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Networking using the Troubleshooting options. Once you're in there, run the BSOD collection program here, you can use a USB thumb drive to transfer the data to a connected PC if you can't connect on the problem one.

When you have completed that, attach the zipped folder to a reply here, we'll try to figure out what went wrong.
