Will this >> http://majorgeeks.com/download4372.html work on a Windows 2000 system? The description says Windows XP, but up top it says Win9x/ME/2000/XP. I was going to try using this >> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811259/en-us but apparently it doesn't work for Windows 2000. So, any ideas? The problem is that I cannot get an IP address for the PC due to Winsock being corrupt or missing. I tried to re-install TCP/IP and that didn't work. At this very moment, I'm uninstalling/reinstalling the network drivers (Intel PRO100/VE) and we'll see if that does anything.... so, any ideas? Tips? Suggestions?

    Thanks!

    :celebrate PROBLEM SOLVED!!! :dancer

I used the link above to download the Winsock XP Fix and figured I'd try it. The Winsock was messed up anyway so I figured "what harm can it do?" So I ran it and rebooted, and it worked perfect. So, if anyone else is wondering, the name is a bit misleading; it worked fine on Win2000.
