   Recently got a new desktop with windows 7. went to hp to download a driver for my laser jet 1000 and the web site said that windows 7 does not support my laser jet. Is there a patch available so I can use my printer?

   have you attached the printer to see if windows 7 loads just a basic driver to print? also, with the printer attached check windows updates.

   Wont be any patch available if HP dont support it on their driver page, thesmokingun's idea is a good one as many a time Windows itself can install a basic driver, so with printer plugged in and on, try windows update.
   
   
   Alternate is the Global Print Driver from Xerox HERE but may not have all the fuctions a HP driver would have but could work.
