Hi Ive been having an issue with Windows 7 intermittently freezing for the last couple of weeks now and its beginning to drive me mad lol.
As far as Im aware these things are generally caused by the CPU overheating or RAM issues.
Ive checked my RAM and dont believe it to be the issue. My PC is pretty old now and its not the best cooled system I could have either.
Having said that I NEVER have issues with Windows 7 freezing whilst in safe mode which leads me to believe it is software related.
Also I have noticed Explorer uses a lot of CPU usage at times and I have issues with Flashplayer which also uses a lot of CPU usage but it could be just a coincidence and not at all related as I usually use my PC with explorer.exe stopped and manually stop the flashplayer plugin in my Firefox browser when there is a flash related content in my opened tabs but still experience the freezing issue.

Can I get some advice or do I need to install some software so I can post some logs?

    Thanks in advance!

Ran across a similar problem recently with someone who had a loose heatsink fan. Could your heatsink fan be on the blink?

Hmm no because then it would be a overheating issue which I assume would also occur in safe mode no?
