Windows 7 no sound-need new sound card

Hello, I'm new to posting but a long time visitor to your site. Please help if you can - installed Windows 7 - previously XP. Old graphics card & sound card (on board) don't support W7. Installed new graphics card and new PSU 450W - all working well. Had to remove a TV tuner card to fit the new graphics card with fan on to motherboard. Can't get sound regardless of driver downloads ++, I'm happy to buy new sound card, but there are no slots left in motherboard to fit one in - what do people do in this circumstance? I don't really want to pull it all to bits again and install a new motherboard. The only "sound" I absolutely must be able to get is DSS files emailed for typing (dictation). Thanks for any help you can offer. :confused

 

What motherboard And graphics card do you have?

you can get a usb sound card, not sure how mcuh but im sure tigerdirect or newegg ect. has them.

 

Hi, Motherboard is Dell 0F4491 new graphics card is Powercolor HD 3850

 

I can't find any rederance to the mobo, but the easy option would be to go with the USB sound card, although it's s uk site here's what you should be looking at.

Have you been to Dell/support site and DL latest drivers for the board, put your tag number in and the site will direct you to appropriate drivers.
