    Specs:
Desktop with Windows 7 pro 64bit

    Problem:
Desktop won't go into sleep mode.

For months my computer would manually go into sleep mode. Settings were set to turn off monitor after 15 minutes and go into sleep after 25 minutes. While file sharing the computer would not go into sleep mode (my setting).

Today I noticed that even when I'm not file sharing the monitor would turn off, but the computer would never go into sleep mode as scheduled.

    What I've done:
(1). Checked to make sure my drivers are up to date, which they are (especially my video card), wake timers are turned off, etc.

    (2) Ran CMD as admin (Start > cmd > right click, run as admin) > power -energy. After a minute i received:
    7 errors
    4 warnings
    17 informational

    Platform Timer Resolution:platform Timer Resolution
The default platform timer resolution is 15.6ms (15625000ns) and should be used whenever the system is idle. If the timer resolution is increased, processor power management technologies may not be effective. The timer resolution may be increased due to multimedia playback or graphical animations.

Platform Power Management Capabilities:Supported Sleep States
Sleep states allow the computer to enter low-power modes after a period of inactivity. The S3 sleep state is the default sleep state for Windows platforms. The S3 sleep state consumes only enough power to preserve memory contents and allow the computer to resume working quickly. Very few platforms support the S1 or S2 Sleep states.

I haven't touched anything after that. Any help to understand what the problem is and how to solve it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Do you normally shutdown your computer at night or leave it in sleep mode? If you haven't done a full shutdown and restart since this problem started, I suggest you do so and see whether that resolves the problem.

normally i leave the pc alone and allow it to enter sleep mode at night. I restarted the computer when i noticed the problem prior to making the thread.
