Windows 8.1 dropping internet connection.

Hey, I upgraded to Win 8.1 this weekend and my laptop has been dropping the internet connection at random. I have looked at lots of stuff at Microsoft's forums on have not found any real answers.
I have tried these solutions:http://www.nextofwindows.com/why-windows-8-wireless-keep-disconnectinghow-to-troubleshoot/ that I found here on MGs. Those did not help either.
It looks like a lot of people are having the same issue.

The home Wi-Fi is working.
Drivers are up to date.
Gateway NE56R49u
Broadcom 802.1 b/g/n

Ideas?
