Windows 8 start page icons non-responsive

    When clicking on icon on start page, the icon responds but does not start. A few will activate, desktop, office, etc, but most will not open at all. Store opens but then immediately shuts down and goes back to start page. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi

    Are you at Windows 8.1 update?
    What type of PC do you have and make and model is great?
    What screen resolution do you have, to find this on the legacy desktop right click and choose "Screen Resolution" and tell us what it is as if too low then the Windows 8 desktop icons will not load a Windows 8 app. Need at least 1024x768 screen resolution.

    What you could try and help find any issues with the apps is this trouble-shooter HERE

    Update to 8.1 as some apps now need Windows 8.1 to run correctly or at all.

    In order to update to 8.1, I need to get the store working. When I click on it, it opens and immediately closes and goes back to start page. I have tried multiple times.

    Will not let me do a system refresh. Did this previously and did a system restore! Worked for a while and started doing it again.
