Hi I'm new here and I hope I've posted in the right place. When I double click on the E:\ icon in my computer (which is a partition of my hard disk) and also my portable hard disk's my computer icon, I get this error message "Windows cannot find 'Boot.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search."

I am using an IBM Thinkpad T42, running on Windows XP Pro SP2. Thanks for any help in advance. :)

Does the same thing happen when you right click the drive and the 'Explore"?

I see from the malware forum you don't have a virus. I can't post there so I am adding this here.

Sorry if I let you in for much unneccessary virus hunting, but boot.exe is a nasty one if you have it. Better safe than sorry I think.

And thank you Chas as well I have certainly learned something too.
