This must be a common thing that I can't seem to find.

I want to disable the Windows Firewall but the "Off" is greyed out, and a fancy blue notice above says that "For my security, it is restricted by Group Policy" GGrrrrr.

The workstation is part of an AD.

The Admin on the server (Windows 2003 SBS) has this switched off.

The user on the workstation (XP Sp2) via AD has the option greyed.

The AD ADministrator on the workstation has the option greyed.

The local ADministrator on the workstation has the option greyed.

I have even gone to the Policy "Network access: sharing and security model for local accounts" and set it to "Classic - local users authenticate as themselves", and changed the time it takes to refresh Group Policy to 1 minute, all to no avail.

How do you "ungrey" the off selector for Windows Firewall!! AAArrrggg

    Thanks in advance.

    N.
