Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool

    I currently have Windows Update nagging me to download "Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool - March 2008 (KB890830)" and I'd like to know if you folks think it's something that is necessary or genuinely helpful to download.

    Is this tool known to have any problematic issues? If so, can it be easily removed?

    I always let MS run its software malicious tool monthly on y three windows computers that go on the internet. It has never caused a problem.
