I'm having the same problems with Windows Media Player. I did search and found this error. It started on this computer about 2 months ago and I have no clue why. Any suggestions?

Faulting application wmplayer.exe, version 11.0.6001.7007, time stamp 0x4a5c650c, faulting module ctmp3io2.dll, version 1.3.36.0, time stamp 0x39a9e56a, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00004c04, process id 0x13f8, application start time 0x01ca2989f2d28cd9.

After you get the issue fixed I would just stop using WMP
IMO WMP and quicktime are the worst media players on the market I would just use
KM Player and be done with it .(its free)

Give it a try and I am willing to bet you will never click on the WMP icon ever again
