windows update cant install flash player security updates

i get the yellow sys icon saying "Updates are ready for your computer", so the install prompt comes up and just says "initializing installation..." in the status window for a few minutes, then afterwards say "Updates were unable to be sucessfully installed, the following was not installed: Security Update for Flash Player (KB923789)" it happens all the time even after restarting, it always comes up and is not sucessful. Any help???

there are a lot of threads that deal with windows updates, which you can find by going to the Search button at the top of this page and when it opens, click on advanced, put in words like Windows Updates Microsoft and ask it to search the Software forum. Additionally, you may find more immediate help at:

zbd21 is correct. You can download the uninstaller by CLICKING HERE, http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_14157

After running the uninstaller, go back to the Flash download, http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=5163 again and try installing it one more time. After it installs correctly, go try that security update again.
